The Historical Museum of Southern Florida is centrally located in downtown Miami, at the Metro-Dade Cultural Center Plaza, 101 West Flagler Street. The plaza resembles a Spanish fortress and covers an entire city block. The plaza includes the Historical Museum, Miami-Dade Public Library System Main Library, and the Miami Art Museum.

Admission

$5 adults;
$4 seniors and college students with identification;
$2 for children 6-12;
free for Historical Museum members and children under 6.
Sundays are Contribution Day.

Hours

Monday - Saturday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Third Thursdays: 10 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Sunday: noon - 5 p.m.

Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day.

Parking

Discounted, covered parking is available next door at the Cultural Center parking garage on the block to the west of the Cultural Plaza at 50 N.W. 2nd Avenue. Take the over-the-street walkway from parking level 2 on the south side directly to the plaza. Be sure to get your parking ticket validated by our lobby cashier.

Directions to the Museum

By Metrorail
Get off at Government Center Station, walk south across NW 1st Street and go up the stairs on the north side of the Cultural Center, or use the ramp on the south side. The entrance is on the plaza.

By Car, northbound
If traveling north on I-95, take the NW 2nd Street exit. Turn right onto NW 2nd Street, and then right on NW 2nd Avenue for one block. The Cultural Center is on the left and the Miami-Dade Cultural Center parking garage is on the right.

By Car, southbound
If traveling south on I-95, exit at Port of Miami/NW 8th Street. Turn left onto NW 2nd Street, and then turn right onto NW 2nd Avenue. The Cultural Center is on the left, and its parking garage on the right.
