Messenger, December 17, 1943. Original caption on verso or print: Star-spangled scooterette at Miami Air Depot. To cover the vast area of the Miami Air Depot quickly, messengers scoot around in scooters. Scooter operators must pass an examination, ar given a license. Red-haired Pat M. Gildersleeve, one of the first scooter operators licensed, makes a colorful picture as she whizzes around the Depot in her star-spangled blouse with cap to match, delivering messages for the Adjutant Generals office.
